Investigators seek the public’s help in find a man who used a lasso to steal three surveillance cameras from the City of Corpus Christi/Nueces County Health Department last week.
According to a police report, the surveillance cameras show a man wearing a camouflaged ball cap, a long sleeve button down work style shirt, and jeans using a lasso to take down the cameras, one-by-one. The theft took place about 4 a.m. in the 1700 block of Horne Road on Friday.

Man In The Middle Attack Using Ettercap In Kali Linux
It’s one of the simplest but also most essential steps to “Conquering” a network. Once a hacker has performed a “Man In The Middle” attack (MITM) on a local network, he is able to perform a number of other “Side-kick” attacks. This includes: cutting a victim’s internet connection; intercepting Emails, logins, and chat messages; and many others. here we are using one of the best tool Ettercap.
Ettercap
Ettercap has a huge following and is widely used by cybersecurity professionals. Ettercap works by placing the users network interface into promiscuous mode and by ARP poisoning the target machines, i.e. facilitating a Main In The Middle or MITM attack. Once successfull Ettercap (and the hacker) can deploy various attacks on the victims. A popular feature about Ettercap is its ability to support various plugins.
And only one tool is needed for this attack:
- An install or Live boot of Kali Linux, a well-known OS containing a collection of hundreds of penetration testing tools - Click here to install Kali linux
If you have that, then proceed to the tutorial below, and we’ll demonstrate how to perform this powerful attack.
Note: This tutorial is intended to be used for penetration testing, i.e. the act of hacking to become more secure. It is not at all meant for malicious purposes. Performing any type of fraudulent activity on someone else’s network without permission is considered a crime in most countries. PicaTesHackZ is using their own test network in this demonstration.
Step One:
Start Kali Linux and login to the root user.
Step Two:
Open a Terminal and type: leafpad /etc/ettercap/etter.conf
Step Three:
Look through the text file that just opened. On one of the first lines, under the [privs] section, look for the words highlighted below:
You need to change these lines to this:
By removing the number 65534 and replacing it with 0 (zero). You can leave the “# nobody is default” line.
Step Four:
This next one will be tricky to locate, so we’re going to use the “Find” option. Click onSearch in the toolbar at the top of leafpad and click Find.Type the word iptables in the box that appears and click the Find button or press Enter.
It should skip to a line that looks like this:
We need to “uncomment” the two bottom lines. To do this, remove the two “#” symbols before each “redir_command,” so that the two lines look like this:
Now close leafpad and click Yes when it asks you to save changes.
Step Five:
Now start Ettercap-gtk, open a Terminal and type ettercap –G
Wait until Ettercap opens. When it does, click Sniff in the toolbar and select Unified Sniffing… from the menu.
Step Six:
Select the interface that’s connected to the network.
If your using a wired (ethernet) connection, then the interface will probably be eth0, but if you’re using wireless, (WLAN), then it will be a different one. To find which one of your interfaces is connected, run ifconfig.
Step Seven:
Now Ettercap should load into attack mode. Click on Hosts and select Scan for hostsfrom the menu.
Step Eight:
Ettercap will briefly scan for hosts on the network. After a moment, you should see the words “hosts added to the host list…” in the command box. This is the green light.
Click on Hosts again, and this time select Hosts list from the menu.
Step Nine:
Click the IP address of the router and click the Add to Target 1 button.
Then select the IP of your test victim’s machine and click Add to Target 2.
Step 10:
Now click Mitm on the toolbar and select Arp poisoning…
When the question box shows up, check the box next to Sniff remote connections and hit OK.
Step 11:
Ettercap will now Arp poison the victim and router. Now if you want to see any of the victim’s personal info, you’ll need to click Start on the toolbar and select Start sniffing.

This may very well be the weirdest thing you’ll read all day. Dallas police are on the hunt for a man who is accused of attacking a woman with a frozen armadillo. The Sept. 29 altercation occurred in the parking lot of an apartment complex, where the 57-year-old was buying the carcass from the suspect so that she could eat it. An argument over the price led to the man allegedly throwing the dead animal at the woman—not once, but twice, MyFox Austin reports. Man Sentenced for 5 Months for hacking sodahead com
38-year-old Michael Pullen of Dry Didge, Kentucky, has been sentenced to five months in prison and two years of probation after hacking into several accounts on the social networking website SodaHead.com.
Pullen didn’t cause any damage. Instead, he hacked into the accounts of those who posted homophobic and racist comments and replaced their posts with something less offensive, nky.cincinnati.comreported.
He used a software vulnerability to gain access to the accounts he targeted.
The defense lawyer argued that his client was simply a prankster and he shouldn’t have been sentenced to jail. However, SodaHead.com representatives claimed that Pullen’s hacking posed a threat to the company. They were desperately working to find the vulnerability leveraged by the hacker.
For this, Pullen will also have to pay $21,000 (€15,000) to the company.
The man was sentenced under the controversial Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA). However, legal experts argue that this is a “fairly straightforward application of the law.”
“We might want some type of restriction against accessing someone’s private space on a computer – even if it is done as a prank,” noted Eric Goldman, an expert in Internet law.
“Having said all of that, it isn’t clear whether this was all that harmful. There was probably some teeth gnashing, but what other damages were incurred from his intrusion?” he added.
Pullen started surfing SodaHead.com in 2009 after losing his job. He exploited a bug in the social media network to hijack accounts.
He claimed he only did it for around two weeks, but he quickly attracted the attention of the US Secret Service.
Agents showed up at his house in March 2010. However, he was only charged in November 2012. He will have to turn himself in to a federal work camp in Ashland by October 21.

A 45-year-old man, Nweze and a young woman suspected to be his mistress Ogechi, have been found dead in the bedroom naked at Okposi Achara in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State. The deceased, Nweze was said to be married with children and resident in Ondo State but came back home for a burial when the incident happened. Neighbours suspected that the deaths could have been caused by fume from a generating set which was on until police came in the morning.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, Mr. Sylvester Igbo, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), who confirmed the incident, said the woman also had children with her estranged husband before she died.
“The woman was a wife to another man with whom she had three children although it appeared they had an estranged relationship, while the man was married and lived in Ondo State but came home for a burial. He left the wife and children in Ondo State.The man and the woman were found naked on the bed in the man’s house where condoms littered the place.“The cause of their death according to investigation, could be generator fume which the man put on and parked inside a room close to the room where they were, possibly to avoid anybody knowing that he was at home.The DPO said that as at the time he visited the scene of the incident, the generator was still on.So, their death, until the doctor proves contrary, was caused by a generator fume,” PPRO stated.Igbo, however said that the two corpses had been taken to mortuary at Okposi General Hospital, for autopsy

It sat in front of him, on top of a pillow that rested on a milk crate.He sprinkled baby powder on it -- what looked like a huge watermelon encased in a compression bandage -- but the unmistakable smell of urine couldnt be completely smothered.
"Hard to believe, isnt it?" 47-year-old Wesley Warren Jr. said in the poorly lit apartment. "Its freakish."
What sat in front of where Warren was seated in shorts -- what is actually attached to him -- was more than 100 pounds of scrotum, the protective sac of skin and muscle that contains his testicles.
"Its not easy to get around," he said, standing and groaning as he lifted his scrotum off its makeshift pedestal and carefully let it hang almost to the floor. "It makes me stay in most of the time."
If there is a more unusual medical condition afflicting someone from Southern Nevada, the medical community or patient hasnt come forward with it. Warren has gone public, even though he knows there will be those who laugh at him, because he desperately wants a costly surgery to correct the scrotal elephantiasis that became part of his life nearly three years ago.
Daily bouts of depression -- "I want to have real friends and a relationship with a woman" -- throw him into the depths of despair. "But Im not suicidal. Im too strong for that."
Much like Victorian Englands Joseph Merrick, whose life with severe deformities became the subject of both the play and movie, "The Elephant Man," Warren has concluded that to escape his present life he must allow himself to be exhibited.
Unlike Merrick, who used freak show exhibitions to stay alive, Warren at least has enough money through social programs to put food in his stomach and a roof over his head.
But he used the pseudonym "Johnathan from Las Vegas" to let people know that his penis is so buried in his scrotal tissue that he cant direct his urination and often sprays the area around him.
He also told -- to more laughter on the set -- of how he cant sit down for a bowel movement and must catch it in the same kind of pail used in casinos for coins.
"I dont like being a freak, who would?" Warren said. "But I figured that the Stern show is listened to by millions of people and they might want to help me. I hope some millionaire or billionaire will want to help me."
Many people have reached him through his benefitballsack@yahoo.com email address, he said.
How much financial help hes received, Warren wont say."What Ive got is a start," he said, his eyes tearing up.
If Warren lived in the tropical sectors of Africa, Asia, Central and South America, this case of disabling elephantiasis, or gross enlargement of his genitals to elephantoid size, would probably end up being attributed to a mosquito-spread parasitic infection. Known as lymphatic filariasis, the infection sees long, threadlike worms block part of the bodys lymphatic system, causing fluids to collect in the tissues, which can lead to a great swelling called lymphedema.
"In Africa and Asia, it is not so unusual as in the United States, and those who have it see it as a curse from God," said Dr. Mulugeta Kassahun, a Las Vegas urologist who grew up in Ethiopia. Those with the disabling condition in Africa, Kassahun said, often must use it to beg for food.
But Warren lives near downtown Las Vegas on Maryland Parkway and says he has never traveled to tropical areas outside of the country. And doctors who have examined him have found no trace of the infectious disease that produces the massive elephantiasis of the scrotum that ancient Indian and Persian writings first described centuries ago.
What Warren attributes his condition to is an accidental striking of his testicles by his own leg as he twisted and turned upon awakening from a sleep in late 2008.
"I never felt such pain," he said. "It was like a shooting pain through my entire body. When it stopped, it was like a huge tractor trailer went off the top of me. I think it ruined my lymph nodes down there."
The pain quickly went away but he said the next morning when he awoke his scrotum was "the size of a soccer ball."
Trauma is a possible cause for Warrens condition, said Kassahun, who has examined him, "but known cases are very rare."
Warren said after the initial swelling he immediately went to University Medical Center for help, where he was given a two-week regimen of antibiotics for what was thought to be an infection. He said he was in the hospital for four days and doctors there told him to go see his primary physician.
Then working on commission finding appropriate sites for ATM machines in the Las Vegas Valley, Warren said he went to doctors off and on for months, including a lymphedema specialist, without finding help. "I kind of gave up," he said.
But the swelling became so large that he could no longer work. He went on disability. And in early 2010 he again entered UMC, hoping that doctors could find a way to take him out of his misery.
Kim Voss, an associate administrator at the hospital, said that during an eight-week period a team of doctors, including urologists, surgeons, internists and infectious disease specialists, wrote up 20 different documentations of what they found.
In references to Warrens condition, medical practitioners interchangeably use scrotal elephantiasis, scrotal lymphedema or scrotal edema, a condition characterized by an excess of watery fluid collecting in tissues of the body, to describe his condition. Doctors dont know if his condition could grow even more pronounced.
UMCs medical team did find that Warren had a hernia and fixed that.
Though the infectious disease generally tied to the elephantiasis was not found, Voss said multiple courses of antibiotics and anti-viral medications were given to Warren in hopes that they would take down the massive swelling. When they didnt, she said doctors told him about a surgery that could be performed through Medicaid.
Urologist Kassahun informed Warren that a team of urologists and plastic surgeons would be needed to cut away the excess tissue and to perform the reconstructive surgery that would include skin grafts. Every attempt would be made to save and reconstruct Warrens penis and testicles, but it was possible that they would have to be completely excised.
"I told him that if there was major bleeding we might not be able to save them," Kassahun said.
That news shook Warren.
"Basically, he was telling me there was a good chance that I would be castrated and have to go to the bathroom through a tube for the rest of my life," he said. "I really would like to have a relationship with a woman. I should be in the prime of my life right now."
Even though scrotal lymphedema is exceedingly rare outside certain tropical regions of the world, Kassahun told Warren that it was possible that the UCLA Medical Center in California may have surgeons who could better deal with his situation.
At UCLA, where Warren recently paid nearly $600 for an evaluation, he said doctors seemed more confident about saving his penis and testicles. They also told him that it would cost nearly seven figures for the procedure. Even if Nevadas Medicaid program would allow him to go out-of-state for surgery, Warren said UCLA doctors informed him that they doubted that would work."They said Nevada Medicaid doesnt pay enough so I would be a cash patient," he said.
Still, even if he comes up with the cash, Warren admits that there is no guarantee the surgery would work.
"But I do feel I would have a better chance," Warren said.
In a situation as extraordinary as Warrens, Kassahun said, there can never be a guarantee of success.
"That would be irresponsible," he said.
Warren has lived in Las Vegas for more than 15 years, initially coming here from the New York City area, where he worked in security and as a messenger. He had hoped to work on the production crew of the movie, "Casino." Though that didnt work out, he stayed.
A tad more than 6 feet tall, he was more than 300 pounds before the scrotal lymphedema. With the 100 pounds from that condition added on -- he said he weighed his scrotum on a scale -- he is now about 450 pounds. Even sitting, his breathing is labored, sounding much like someone hurriedly climbing the stairs.
He suffers from high blood pressure and asthma, often using an inhaler. A home health care nurse visits him twice a week.
Just how difficult routine matters can be for Warren became apparent the other day when he went to buy money orders and pay bills at the downtown post office. It took him three hours to do what a person in reasonable physical shape could accomplish in less than half that time.
As he got dressed for the trip, an acquaintance helped him with the struggle to pull the compression garment over his scrotum. That took at least 15 minutes.Then he stepped through the arms of a sweatshirt and wrestled with the zipper on the hood that would cover his edema. That took another 15 minutes. Sweating, he used a safety pin and belt to hold the hoodie up and then put a regular shirt on.
"I was looking in my closet one day and figured out that a hoodie would be something I could wear out and cover my problem," said the bespectacled Warren, who wears a New York Fire Department cap on his head.
He walked with the uneasy steps of a toddler, though he was wearing size 15 sneakers -- "my feet have swelled, too." He left his apartment complex for the bus stop across the street, the milk crate and pillow used to hold his scrotum in his hands.
He worried that he might fall as he went up and down curbs and as he got on and off buses. He had to transfer once each way.
"I fell when I went up a curb when I went for my trip to the Stern show," he said. "Its real hard to get up. … You wouldnt believe how hard it was for me to use one of those little restrooms on the plane. It was almost impossible. I was glad I was on the red-eye so people didnt see what a hard time I was having getting in and out."
Once on the buses, Warren placed his hoodie-covered scrotum on the milk crate and pillow. Other passengers looked at him briefly but didnt seem to know what to make of it. They went back to their conversations.
"I really dont think people know what I have," Warren said after he finished his trip. "Its not something people have seen before, Im sure of that. I doubt if they can even imagine it."

I just came back from "Man of Steel", and to be honest, I"m kind of torn. I cant love it without serious reservations, and cant hate it without feeling like a Grinch. If you took all the best aspects of "MOS" and "Superman Returns" yous have the best Superhero movie imaginable. But if you took the worst aspects, youd have an illogical, hyperkinetic, racist, sacreligious, bore, simultaneously overly sentimental about the life of a single dog and callous to the death of thousands. The reality is somewhere in-between. I dont think Ill be surprised by any reaction, whether ecstatic or contemptuous. Theres something for everyone...and in this case, thats a mixed blessing. I wish I was nine again, and could have stopped asking myself questions. I wont give this one a grade--somewhere between D and A depending on what youre asking from a summer entertainment. Im glad I saw it, but Im not entirely glad Im glad. Yeah, I know. Im confused sometimes. I contain multitudes. And some of them are happy. Others arent impressed at all.

He now has a cleft chin, a thinner nose (to mimic actor Christopher Reeves’ nose), fatter lips (from silicone injections) and thigh implants. Based on the before and after pictures, there appear to have been other surgeries as well.

The police in Ogun have arrested a 30-year-old panel beater, Wasiu Yusuf, for allegedly stabbing his friend, Adeolu Olatoye, to death in Abeokuta.Another suspect in the alleged killing of the 32-year-old graphic artist, Mukaila Popoola, is currently on the run.The suspect’s wife, 26-year-old Busayo, is also in detention at the Adatan Police Station.The victim, the suspect and his alleged accomplice lived in the same premises before the incident.
According to Punch,Adeolu was allegedly killed by Yusuf and his accomplice in their residence in the Oke-Efon area of Abeokuta for allegedly having an affair with his wife.Olatoye was said to have met his death barely two weeks after he named his new born child. The victim was also said to be making preparations for his mother’s 80th birthday.
Police sources disclosed that during interrogation, the suspect allegedly confessed to attacking the deceased when he visited his wife in their matrimonial home.The suspect was said to have further claimed that the victim mistakenly stabbed himself during a scuffle between them while attempting to escape from his room.But an eyewitness, who pleaded anonymity, claimed that Olatoye had gone to his friend’s room on the middle floor of the two-storey building to give him an invitation card for his mother’s 80th birthday scheduled to hold on Saturday when the suspect allegedly attacked him with broken bottles.
The deceased’s elder brother, Akinyemi Olatoye, also insisted that his late brother had gone to his alleged attacker’s home to drop a copy of the invitation card for their mother’s birthday.Akinyemi said his deceased brother and the suspect were bossom friends.Confirming the incident, the acting State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the police were investigating the incident.He said, “Information at our disposal is that the suspect met the deceased on his wife inside their room.”

Earlier this week, footage of zookeeper Greig Tonkins sent the world into meltdown after he went toe-to-toe with an Eastern Grey kangaroo during a hunting trip in June.
Mr Tonkins, who struck the roo in the face with a right hook, did so to protect his beloved dog Max, who had just been released from a headlock seconds earlier.

Typically, according to kangaroo expert Dr Mark Eldridge from the Australian Museum, kangaroos usually flee when they spot a dog or dingo. So what was this buck thinking?
“This was a really interesting scenario,” Dr Eldrige told news.com.au.
“When kangaroos fight they do tend to wrestle and kick, but they would normally view dogs and dingoes as predators and usually flee from them.
“But in this case, maybe the dog surprised the roo and got too close. And in turn, the kangaroo defended itself instead of running away, and did so by getting the dog in a headlock.”

Earlier this year, the world misread another kangaroo-based scenario, when we all thought a male kangaroo was grasping his dying mate for one last family hug with their joey.
Oh how wrong we were.
Rather than trying to cradle the dying partner, the male kangaroo was trying to mate with her one last time.
