sinopsis:
Un piloto de pruebas atraviesa la barrera del sonido y viaja al futuro, al año 2024, encontrando una civilización subterránea diezmada por una plaga apocalíptica que los convierte en sordomudos estériles. Una vez que se convence de la realidad de su situación, intenta regresar a su época para advertir a sus contemporáneos del peligro de las pruebas atómicas, y evitar así el desastre atómico... Pero se enamora de la hija del gobernante supremo, y planea llevarla consigo. En el final, todo se complica con el ataque de los peligrosos mutantes de turno.

A principios de 1960, Edgar G Ulmer fue contratado por la American International para realizar dos filmes que deberían componer un programa doble de ciencia ficción. En apenas quince días rodó “Beyond the Time Barrier” y “The Amazing Transparent Man” que, finalmente, serían distribuidas por separado. La mejor de las dos fue ésta, que se inscribía en la corriente de advertencias sobre los riesgos de la energía nuclear. En un futuro catastrófico, la humanidad parece condenada a la extinción. La llegada de un hombre procedente del presente. Conseguirá hacer reaccionar a la abúlica y explotada población. El héroe regresara a su tiempo para advertir a las potencias de la locura que supone la carrera armamentista nuclear. Realizada con una extremada modestia, sin apenas ningún efecto y con una decoración reducida a un mero apunte, es un perfecto ejemplo de la utilización inteligente de los presupuestos de la serie B. Aunque, como muy a menudo, con algún expolio: una de las mejores escenas de la película, los mutantes trepando por una escalinata, en realidad pertenece a “Das Indische Grabmal” (“La Tumba India”, 1958) de Fritz Lang. Al margen de su obvio discurso, su valor reside en una estilización formal que enlaza con los principios del expresionismo.

Long time no see!
Long time no see!
I know its been forever since I posted last... Sorry, things have been busy. Well I just wanted to do a quick post that we have a legitimate reason to be away this week... Were on vacation!!
Were sailing away today on The Freedom of the Seas cruise ship by Royal Carribean to celebrate our 3rd anniversary. Were going to the Bahamas, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. I cant believe weve been married 3 years now!
Yesterday we went to Universals Islands of Adventure with my friend Sarah who lives in Tampa. It was a ton of fun! Today we made the drive to the port in our rental car and it only took about 15 minutes to board(!). Now were just sitting by the pool sipping boat drinks and listening to the band.
I will do a big recap post or two after we get home. I hope you all have a fabulous week, I know we will ;)

Long time no see
Long time no see
I had all of these grand plans to get back to blogging more frequently and then I got busy (as usual!). Well, heres what weve been up to the last few weeks!
This February it felt like we had more snow than usual (along with most of the country)! Im hoping that we can say that we wont be seeing any more snow until next year... However, it was fun and I loved seeing the dogs play in the snow. Rory really loved it, Darcy didnt like it that much. He doesnt like how it sticks to his long hair ;)
Ill be back soon to talk about all of the things we are working on around the house to get ready for Spring. :)
