Mary Berry Lemon Cheesecake
Last week I had a craving for cheesecake. A lemon cheesecake to be precise. I remember watching Mary Berry demonstrate this cheesecake so I decided to look up the recipe. Its a really simple no bake recipe which took all of 10 minutes to put together. The longest wait is for the cheesecake to firm up and we were too impatient so it was still a little soft when we first tried it. It firmed up nicely in the fridge for the next day. I used Hobnobs for the base instead of ginger biscuits as Im not a fan of ginger and used different berries to decorate. The result was divine. Its a really creamy, rich, lemony cheesecake and I loved the crunch of the hobnob base. This would be great for a dinner party and will be sure to impress.

I just couldnt wait for the cheesecake to set properly so its a little soft but it tasted divine! Recipe is available on Mary Berry online
I made a few minor changes listed below
I used a large cake tin 23cm which resulted in a very flat cheesecake, Id recommend using a 18cm or less cake tin.
200g hobnob biscuits, crushed
100g butter, melted
500g mascarpone cheese
325g jar luxury lemon curd
Juice of 1 small lemon
Fresh strawberries and blueberries, to decorate
Icing sugar, to dust
- Place the biscuits in a ziplock bag, seal and bash with a rolling pin.
- Melt the butter in a microwave.
- Add the melted butter to the biscuits and mix well.
- Press firmly into the base of your cake tin making sure not to go up the edges.
- In a large bowl, mix the mascarpone cheese, lemon curd and lemon juice until smooth.
- Pour over the biscuit base and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Chill in the fridge for 4 hours but preferably overnight.
- Decorate with fresh berries and a sprinkling of icing sugar before serving.

You start in the pink hall:
Take the left burning torch on the wall.
Take the lamp cover of the lamp on the left table.
Zoom in on the lamp on the right, then put the lamp cover on:
You will get the code green, blue, red.
Zoom in on the table on the left where you took the lamp cover.
Change the 3 white blocks to green, blue, red.
Take the candle.
Look at the ceiling lamp.
Move the golden part to get the code 66:
Zoom in on the bookcase on the left wall.
Change both numbers to 6 (as per the clue from the ceiling lamp)
Take the white wizard hat.
Go left to the fireplace room:
Zoom in on the golden pot in the top right corner.
Dip the wizard hat in.
Take the candle.
Open the right door of the pink cupboard (bottom right). Take the green spray.
Zoom in on the brown set of drawers.
Open top left drawer and take the golden key.
Zoom in on the fire place.
Use the green spray to kill the fire.
Take the silver key.
Use the silver key to unlock the left door of the pink cupboard
Take the candle inside.
Go right.
Use the golden key to unlock the drawer under the burning lamp
Take the knife.
Go left
Zoom in on the pink couch.
Use the knife to cut open the left pillow:
Take the key inside.
Use this key to open the top right drawer in the brown set of drawers.
Take the candle inside.
Zoom in on the shelve at the mirror
Put the 4 candles on the shelf
Use the torch to light the candles
You will get the code 4546
Zoom in on the brown set of drawers
Open the locked drawer with the code 4546
Take the key
Go right.
Zoom in on the front door
Open the door with this key

Mary Mug Rug
Mary Mug Rug
is a very kind, sweet, generous, and creative
lady I very much look up to. She has sent me
lots of packages full of yummy goodies including
truly precious vintage fabrics, her handmade
items, and her lavender which smells the BEST!
Knowing how skilled of a seamstress she is,
I feel embarrassed to make anything for her,
(because I know surely that she can make the
same thing just a trillion times better!)
but to me, there is no better way than creating
something personal to show appreciation from my heart.
Im sure many of you can agree with me :)
I made this with her name in patchwork
not knowing what it was going to be. I thought
she might like to use it as a mug rug, so I
used insul bright batting but I also thought
she might be kind to decide to hang it, so
I added a few small loops on the back.
I really enjoyed making it and couldnt wait
to get this to her! Soon, I will have a post
on many handmade gifts I have received from
several blog friends over the span of a few
months and youll see lots of Marys
beautiful creations there.. :)

I am showing you today include at least
one fabric scrap that was from Mary :)
For example, this pink fabric with a ferris wheel
is one of my favorite! Isnt it so cute?!
I think this fabric made the pincushion
very cheerful. What is it about the vintage
fabrics (especially feedsacks from the 30s)
that are just unbelievably adorable?!
I picked this fabric for the back side.
Oh by the way, Ive noticed that Ive been
choosing lots of fabrics that I bought on my
last trip to Japan two years ago for my projects
recently. You know why.. I think its because I am
going to Japan next month ! :D Hooray!!
I think I am subconsciously trying to use up the fabric
I bought there on my last trip so that I can give
myself a reason to buy more this time :) My entire
family thought I was going crazy by buying so much
fabric last time. (Last time I went to Nippori Textile
Town, I bought so much fabric that I gave myself
a bruce on my right arm where I was hanging
bags full of fabrics! lol!) Sure I was going a bit
crazy but dont mind the same experience again :D
I really like this one especially the naughty
look of the bird on the red tape. Its like
he is planning to eat up the pincushion or
something. lol.
Isnt the pot lovely? This is also the fabric
Mary shared with me. I think it is one of
my favorite fabric now. So adorable!
Yup, this is also one of the fabrics I
snatched in Japan two years ago!
This one turned out to be so American, color-wise!
One thing I like about this pincushion is..
This girl in the corner wondering where
she left her cherries and strawberries
that she needs for her cooking. The upside
down kettle there is fun too!
This fabric is just perfect for a pincushion.
